At this time of year the sun in Iceland settles into its low arc along the horizon, where it remains through the day. The light enters a new phase – richer in colour, longer in angle, and more revealing of form.
These images were taken over the course of the past 7 days.
The second image suffers from atmospheric distortion at full resolution, a reminder that long-distance compression in cold air remains a difficult problem to resolve in post-processing, even when the quality of the light is exceptional.
Great imagery Rajan. #1 is especially beautiful with the colour contrast between the foreground and the background, the beautiful light, the interesting terrain and weather make the image seem soulful.
