Most interesting to me is the new White Balance tuning feature. It seems primarily targeted at those who thought the M11 colors were a bit too magenta SOOC. You can now fine tune the tent to correct this to taste. Anyone try this yet? Does it fix the problem for you?

So who has installed the new M11 firmware update?

You know I did within the first minutes of release.
The new White Balance Adjustment feature seems to do a pretty good job eliminating magenta cast in-camera if wanted/needed. I've still more testing to do. But so far results look promising.

With regards to diminishing Magenta with the WB Adjustments, I seem to like about 15 to 20 + clicks toward Green for those landscape with blue skies and white clouds scenes that tend to bring out the magenta on this camera. Depending on the scene 15 to 20 + clicks toward Green so far seems to align with where I would normally slide the TINT slider in LRC for these type scenes. But I'm still at it. I do however like that I now have the option to control in camera or post editing to taste.
Yes, it's great. I usually use the neutral profile RAW+JPG with custom kelvin and now I can fine tune it very quickly. Left it on about 10 towards Yellow and 10 towards green with it assigned to the Fn button. Per lens it's a little different, but similar ballpark. Since the color is more accurate, I have the neutral profile saturation at +1 now and very happy.
I'm very interested in this firmware update and am curious if everyone is using different settings for their cameras? It seems that different M11's have different color profiles?

Older cameras are going to need the +15 settings that users are talking about. Newer ones might be fixed, and will need less adjustment. Best to do Leica's test (shooting blue sky and grass), and if it's +20 on the Lightroom slider, use +15, else use +5.
I'm guessing the variation can also be explained by use of auto WB. Scenes with a lot of green will probably cause the camera to overcompensate with too much magenta. Shooting with a fixed WB, like sunny, cloudy or Kelvin, for example, won't be influenced by scene variation and therefore shouldn't require as much scene-dependent compensation. The tradeoff with fixed WB is it won't be as flexible under variable conditions. If you're a DNG shooter, this would be of lower concern because you'll be tweaking WB in post anyway. Better in-camera WB will just get you to a better starting point for your post production workflow.
