There are people in Greenwich Village where I live who on the morning of trash pick up day go out early to surveil what people are throwing out, things that may be usable or have value.

Great capture Steve!
WE have a similiar "event" here in Spring and Fall. It is called "bulk trash pickup". People with trucks, trailers and such travel the local neighborhoods for "goodies" they usually sell at Yard Sales or at the local recycle facilities.
