With some recent postings of this elusive and challenging bird to capture, figured it was time to share some of my work so far this year covering these guys...and gals.

Very nice, these are one bird that's eluded me for years. We've got some local but they are just so skittish. You've done a great job capturing these pictures.

Nice captures, JC, especially of the pair!

Thank you! Yes, always a treat to get two, or more, in the same frame. Got quite a few distant shots of them playing chase, but quality is not quite to the levels to post.

Yes, very skittish for sure, but once in a blue moon, there's one I often see who tolerates me time to time.

Very cool collection JC, I especially like the hawk chasing the KF, that is one neat shot! I'm guessing the little KF just zipped away (I hope).
Eric
Thanks Eric. Yes - the BKF did manage to shake this cooper's chase. This cooper stalked this area for a couple of days and mostly watched the cat and mouse chasing and finally got in position and prepared to get about 10 frames of this chase.

Great collection, I struggle to get one in the frame and you pull off doubles. Hats off to you

Appreciate it John. Yep, more is better...always a treat to get two in one shot. Albeit, seems like most have wondered off to different areas so only seeing an occasional one, maybe two in the same area, but never together.

, yes, wiliest is the perfect, one-word, description of these birds! Thanks for the feedback!
