Yeah, at 7 years old, it's still a very capable camera. I know a few people who still use a 5D2 & 5D3 for professional work. Why? Because it get's the job done. You don't always need the latest & greatest. You proved that

My EOS R still feels great in my hands and is more than usable for most situations. I used 13-year-old technology (5D Classic) before I bought my EOS R, and it created some lovely images.

I love the R's touch bar for changing AF patterns. Wish my other cameras had it. So much faster than using a wheel or button. My only complaint is the cropped 4K video on the R. Why? Otherwise it's great for travel and wandering around town. And, yeah, it feels better on the hand than my R6 MK II. You can feel the cool magnesium beneath the skin.

It’s definitely a good camera - and cheap.
Not for video though - it has wild rolling shutter at the slightest provocation.
For stills though - it’s great IMO.

The R fits right in there between the 5D4 and the R5.
I dislike that the 5D4 didn't have a flippy screen for landscape or tripod macro photography. I almost went 6D2 before the R. And EF glass is great on the R.
I just wish they would have put focus bracketing in a firmware upgrade.
