Nikon does, at least in the major European markets, but rarely at the same time as the US discounts.
So it's a question of timing; the last discount campaign for Europe only ended at the end of September.
Three weeks ago, the Z 50/1.8 S was priced at €450, including 19% VAT,
However, the next EU/UK discount campaigns will certainly be launched before the end of this year.
Otherwise, Nikon won't be able to get rid of the stuff.
Any reasonably informed buyer will time their purchase to coincide with the regular discount promotions.
For a Z 50/1.8 S, that may only mean a €100 discount, but for a Z8, it can be significant.
I bought my Z8 in May during the EU discount promotion for €3,500.
Currently, the price outside of the discount promotion is back up to €4,299, and only uninformed customers or those who don't care about the price will buy it at that price.
The mandatory VAT here hurts even more when you buy high-priced products such as a Z8/Z9 body outside of discount promotions.
Therefore, the next discount promotion won't be long in coming.
