I sprang for the updated OM 100-400mm Mkll lens this past Saturday -- a deal I couldn't pass up. So to celebrate my acquisition and try it out, my wife and I drove all day yesterday picking up our new pup, 'Ollie'. Ollie is a Boston Terrier, our first non-Boxer dog in 20 years. He's a tiny little guy and our cat, Max still doesn't know what to make of him, but is treating him with cautious acceptance.
Anyway, here are the first of many, many photos of Ollie, taken with my new lens on his first day in his new home.

Welcome to the forum Ollie (I see what you did there) and congratulations on your other new Olly as well.
He looks like a happy little pup, and the lens looks like it should be a winner.

Thanks, Eric.
Actually, we named him Ollie in honor of our sweet departed 'BJ' -- our Boxer we lost exactly 1 year ago this past Saturday. BJ had a little Boston Terrier girlfriend on the next street over from us, and her name is 'Olive' -- so we thought 'Ollie' would be a good name for her male counterpart.

Congrats on both of your new acquisitions. Don't know much about the lens , but that is one cute dog.

Thanks, John!
Ollie is really adjusting well for only having been with us for a day. He is much smaller than my photos would lead you to believe. His head is literally the size of a tennis ball, and I told my wife that we need to be careful when he's out in the back yard because he's small enough for a hawk to decide to attack. When he gets full grown he'll weigh somewhere between 20-25 lbs.

Thank you, Douglas!
Trust me, if my wife and I weren't in our upper 70's, another boxer would have been in the cards. However, that would be absurd at this stage of our life, and grossly unfair to such a strong, active dog. We realized after we lost 'BJ' that any new dog would have to be much smaller, and we both thought Boston Terriers are kind of like miniture boxers.
So far, 'Ollie' is fitting in really well, and even our cat 'Max' seems to be reasonably accepting of him -- no hissing or scratching yet!
It's those 'looks' !! What a wonderful new addition to your family Greg ...... Ollie that is Seems your new lens is nice pairing with all these new opportunities to document as well.
Gosh that little guy is charming! Enjoy the company and the the glass
Karl
Greg, how could you do this to us Hubby and I have always had a Boston over the past 35 years. Our last boy passed last November and we decided to refrain from another until we hopefully made a few trips and would not have to board a pup. This is just too much for will power to withstand. When hubby see this, we are sunk! Congratulations on the pup and lens and enjoy both to the fullest. I am so jealous and happy for you.

Thanks much, Karl. Right now he's at a fairly high maintenance stage, so schedule planning and coordination is a priority. That said, he is a little clown and is keeping us laughing at his antics, which are on full display whenever he's not sleeping -- which thankfully is a lot.

Thanks for the comment, Mary!
Ollie is our first Boston, but we are becoming big fans in a hurry. After we lost our sweet Boxer, 'BJ' I knew it would be a while before I was ready for another dog, especially since it was so hard to think about not having another Boxer. My wife started working on me a few months back and I could tell that it was a pretty big deal to her, so I caved -- and I must say, I'm not at all sorry. Ollie keeps us in stitches, just like our Boxers did -- he's a 'wild Indian' as my grandmother would say.
I'm very proud of our sweet boy, 'Max' our big orange cat, as he has been very accepting of Ollie and has not shown any kitty anger or aggressive behavior toward Ollie -- of course Max was raised with Boxers.
Life is short, I suggest you and your hubby get another Boston to keep you young and give you a excuse to buy new gear!
