I've just been given a $5000-$6000 budget for 4 prints. Two of them would be in the four foot by six foot range. The buyer is referring to "fuji colors that really pop". I've framed and sold some prints before but nothing on this scale. My first thought was Whitewall. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for the response Fred. I'll check it out. This is very intimidating for me. The idea of someone investing this type of money in my work is hard for me to comprehend but he's seen something he likes so I'm going to go with it.

If your customer is asking for "fuji colors" that means you need large format continuous tone silver halide prints. I believe Whitewall and Bay both offer large prints on a few different Fuji media. If your customer is compatible with half-toned ink jet prints the number of potential suppliers increases, as does the color gamut. You should get ICC profiles to be sure the available gamut works for your images. I recommend searching for a printer that is close enough that you can directly collaborate, and get small proof prints of parts of your image before committing to a giant print.

I looked into Whitewall and it does appear that they offer a good selection of papers. Your suggestion of getting a proof is something that I've been thinking about. However, I wasn't sure what the best method would be to accomplish that. Getting a smaller section of the completed file sounds good. Thanks very much for the input. This is really stressing me out

Just an update if anyone's interested. We ended up going with Whitewall and couldn't be happier. I had ordered a bunch of samples and was so pleased with the way everything came back I went ahead and ordered these large "Direct print on Aluminum Dibond". The files I sent them were all native size so I left it to them to do the upsizing. There were six prints and the largest is my grandson's from the Tetons which is a 72"x54" shot with a Sony A7ll. The two bears were shot with a D500 and the standing one is a 60"x54". The flowing stream was shot with a D700. I was amazed at how well they all held up at these huge sizes. Can't say enough about the "Whitewall Experience". Great customer service and awesome job ! The buyer was very pleased and I am still humbled and honored that he would place my work in his beautiful winter home.
