Shot from the helicopter near Landmannalaugar and Jökulgil, these images show the Icelandic Highlands landscape at the season’s turn. The first frame looks toward Brennisteinsalda, its reddish slopes dusted with the year’s first snow. The remaining images are from Jökulgil, where the rhyolite hills reveal the same light touch of winter.

Beautiful. I would love to be there in snow, but the weather was harsh enough in September! I just finished processing some shots from the lava field hike in the first one - nice to see the aerial perspective.

Jim: The first dusting on Icelandic mountains is a sight to remember (and photograph). Only problem is, almost impossible to know a priori when that's going to happen.
