The sense of size/scale may not be immediately obvious, but this is a very small juvenile gator, munching on an even smaller juvenile turtle.

Crip images Eric. You might try a crop a little tighter on the bottom of the 2nd turtle shot but looser than the first turtle shot.
Ted
Thanks Ted! I dunno why but I always hesitate to crop a Lilly pad in half, almost like step on a crack break your mommas back when we were kids, , no real reason not to.
Very cool set. I like that first image. I assumed that turtles were safe from being eaten cause they have a hard shell. Shows what I know. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Greg, yeah, I've seen it a few times now, but the first time surprised me like you. The one that really surprised me was a big heron with a small baby turtle, that one got to me a little... poor little guy.

Excellent set Eric. I was in Florida a few years ago and watch a gator crunch a turtle ( big gator and big turtle ) sounded like a gunshot.
John
Thanks John! I didn't get the audible, and I'm pretty glad I didn't because that would be hard to forget, yikes!

Wonderful set Eric!! Love the 2nd portrait! The light hitting the underside of the shell is beautiful.

Thanks Birdie, appreciate the comment and your pick.
