p.1 #1 · Dallas to Seattle, or Portland.. Suggestions as to Where to Shoot?
A friend is flying down from the Portland area to visit. He’s going to be shooting with his M11 Monochrom and I’ll probably shoot Ektar & Portra on 645. We will head out sometime between November 1st and 3rd.
I’m renting a car and we will head out, but what would you suggest that we make sure that we don’t miss? Do we head North, or sidetrack to Albuquerque prior to heading North?

One of the things to take into consideration is we're entering a La Nina year. This normally brings lower temperatures and more precipitation. This means early snow in the passes and coming west from Dallas, there are a lot of passes.
Santa Fe is much more picturesque than Albuquerque a side trip to Taos is a plus.
Once you're in the Four Corners area, the Intermountain West is a lot of miles and miles followed by more miles. There are points of interest in Utah which you might want to research. Twin Falls, Idaho is a good point to turn west and enter Oregon. Baker City is worth exploring then follow I-84 to Pendleton. Heading west it will take you through the Columbia Gorge and a side trip to Maryhill in Washington of you have time.
Multnomah Falls is about thirty miles east of downtown Portland and check out Helimats pictures of it. From Portland, take Highway 30 to Astoria, then south on 101 to California. From there, you can start working south and east to I-10 to home. There are a ton of other places to see but you only have so much time. Hope this helps and have a great trip.
