Every time these crazy deals come up on the Z5 II, I think about swapping my Z6 III for it. There are things on the Z6 III I really like that the Z5 II doesn't have (the ability to use electronic shutter in most situations and not worry about rolling shutter or even generally banding, the better EVF, etc....), but it still is a draw. I will hold off once again.
I also think the Z5II is an amazing deal, but I'm not sure why you would consider swapping from the 6III "down" to it? Is the 6III not in the latest family of expeed7? What is it missing?
What is the best way to stay abreast of these sales? I just went to the bottom of Nikon's main refurb page and signed up for the mail list. Good enough?

Are you implying the Z30 is valued at 350? How are you arriving at 50?
I don't particularly need that lens, but I'd like to get the kit price of 399 if it comes up again.
During the sale I bought mine, the Z30 body only was available for $350 while the kit with the 16-50 was $400. So at that time the marginal cost for the 16-50 was just $50. Wasn’t that interested in the 16-50, but for just $50 and its diminutive size I figured silly not to get the kit.
I’ve noticed over time that sometimes certain refurb kit prices are unusually cheap compared to the body only option.
