No refurb deals here in France/Europe from what I've seen. I'd grab a Z8 at this price. A new Z8 here is 4600 EURO, which is around $5,320 USD. No discounts right now. Pretty brutal.
One of the reasons could be, no too many 'purchase then return" kind of things here in Canada, especially for expensive equipment.
That would be my best guess..
The Z5II at 1200 odd dollars seems like even better deal but out of stock. I have never bought anything from Nikon directly... how do people go about Nikon refurbs, keep refreshing the page every few hours or?

In my experience, if something is out of stock, it is most likely out of stock for the duration of the sale, typically last 4 days. I've never seen them restocking during these monthly sales.

Ahh shoot. Now that I have seen this price, its very hard to shell out $1500+ on used examples.

About as wrong as you could be.

Can you go directly to the refurb page for a particular lens and just refresh that? I google searched the lens I want with 'refurb' and actually got a link to the Nikon website page for it. Just shows out of stock and of course isn't listed on the refurb sale list.
I have purchased from them before, and things they describe as "Very Good" are basically untouched by human hands. They also have an iron-clad return policy if you are not satisfied.
