My wife and I spent a couple days in Point Reyes National Seashore last week. On our second day we hired Daniel Dietrich from Point Reyes Safaris for a guided photography tour. After our morning hike we were driving through the park and he spotted this ferruginous hawk. Daniel said that they only visit the area and they are pretty rare. I had never seen one before. He also spotted a pair of great horned owls while we were with him. The northern harriers were all over the park.
