It's here and I love it so far. Works really well with the TCs; the AF is quite fast even with the 2x TC. This is a perfect solution for those of us who like using a longer macro (I've always preferred the Nikon 200mm and Canon 180mm) in some situations without having to make two lenses, one of which is very niche.
I sold my Sony FE 90/2.8 Macro G OSS for the Sony FE 100/2.8 Macro GM OSS.
I kept my Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 60/2.0 Macro and my Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 110/2.5 Macro
because of their special optical performance, in terms of sharpness, color rendering, and microcontrast.

When it was announced I asked myself if I wanted it and would it be something different than my CV 110mm? In the end I can't see giving up the special qualities the CV can create. No doubt the Sony is an excellent lens, just not worth a switch for me.
A review of CV 110mm images posted on Flickr further supports my personal decision:
The big advantages of the Sony FE 100/2.8 Macro GM OSS are the 11 rounded aperture blades for better bokeh, the fast autofocus, the first-class OSS, and the possibility of using Sony FE-TCs.
The Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 110/2.5 Macro has better mechanics, sharpness, color rendering, and better microcontrast.

I think the new Sony 100 Macro will especially excel as an all-rounder - much improved AF, fully capable of doing double duty as a great portrait lens and a superlative macro. The ability to go greater than 1:1 for those who need it will be a gamechanger, I imagine.
Vs. the CV 110/2.5, Bastian had this to say about the 90:
We are fairly sure now that from life-size samples like the one above that its a superb macro lens. It seems a touch sharper than the Sony G 90mm at long distances, and at least as sharp as that impressive lens when you reach 1:2. At life size the Sony 90mm is a touch sharper, has nicer bokeh, but a tiny touch more CA. If I was only shooting at 1:1 I would probably choose the Sony, though the CV is nicer to use. As a general purpose lens for the manual focus lover the CV is a better bet.
The 100 appears to outperforms the 90 in every way in early testing, and has basically zero CA, so I imagine it is sharper than the CV and equals it in CA control.

Or are your statements based on personal assumptions?
I personally owned the Sony FE 90/2.8 Macro G OSS, and I personally own the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 65/2.0 Macro and the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 110/2.5 Macro, as well as the new Sony FE 100/2.8 Macro GM OSS.

Awesome, I'd love to see some side-by-sides, as I'm sure everyone else would.
Initial impressions from some casual shots walking around town at night at f2.8 are, as you might expect, the lens is sharp, microcontrasty, but the sharpness falloff seems gentle and (so) bokeh unexceptional.

Some snaps. This lens will replace my Laowa 90mm. I don't do too much real macro, but I used the Laowa for a lot of product photography (i.e., stuff I'm selling). It's nice to have a native AF option now.
One caveat is that this lens, despite it having the newest XD linear motors, does not focus super fast when in actual macro distances. AF at a bit of a distance using tracking, then closing the distance (bringing the camera closer to the subject) seems to help, but it does tend to lose focus when really close. I'll need to experiment more with this to see how viable AF is in real-world, real macro scenarios. I'm pretty sure relying on MF will be the way to go, which is pretty convenient with the focus clutch or keeping full-time DMF on.
