Great shots ! I would likely have added a hair light for better separating from the background, but they are good as they are. A very pretty young girl.
You owe it to her to teach her the basics of using manual mode. I did this with my grand daughter and when she really took interest, I gave her an older Canon 16 megapixel Canon camera that I no longer used, plus a Godox X Pro transmitter, 3' square soft box, two Godox TT600 speedlites, a set of 33" umbrellas, and two S2 brackets for holding the speedlites plus two light stands. All of these were older gear that I almost never used any more and were what I was using 10-15 years ago. She has her own Florist Business, so she is taking photos of her flower arrangements to build a catalog, and also posting them to her Florist website. These she says, "gives customers ideas to choose from". I have recently given her an EF 75-300 lens for vacations and travel, as the camera only had a 50 mm lens on it when I gave it to her. I had told her "zoom with your feet, until you can afford zoom lenses". Now she won't always need to zoom with her feet when on vacation. Her mom had told me that I had created a "camera monster" after she came home with the camera. She was taking pictures of everything for the first several weeks. She still takes a lot of photos, but more of the flower arrangements now. Whenever she comes to visit, we spend time in my studio with me answering her questions and then usually doing something to reinforce her knowledge about whatever she has had problems doing.
Give them the basics and then see what happens. If they become really interested, this is a good way to get rid of some of your older gear and then get out of the way, because you too will likely have created a "camera monster" with some older gear that you likely will never use again. It's a great way to help someone who shows sincere interest, and it's better to help someone who is really interested by giving them a start with older gear that you will likely never use again. Real photographers are dwindling in number. Lets help those with sincere interest in our hobby / profession to carry on after us.
