You know what's crazy? You list an item and get 50 lowball offers. After accepting one, you get a PM saying "I'll take it if it's still available" without a lowball. When you say it's sold, they go "aww shucks that was a great price." Well bro where were you all these time when the listing was still active?
Or this:
"hey man I'll take it if it's still available. What's your paypal?"
Me: (gives paypal info)
Buyer: Also, would you take (lowball) for it?
Me: Dude, you already committed to buy, why toss a lowball at the end?
"committed to buy" means payment is received in my book. I do think people should make a clear offer and honor it but if the process really upsets you, you can go to KEH with your used gear. I don't think you should be offended by a low ball offer. I recently gave one that the buyer may have felt was a low ball since it was $150 less than his asking. Thing is, it was $25 over a recently sold same lens that I missed out on. He basically replied with a "no", which I would assume to be that he is holding for full price since no negotiation was offered. So he may consider my offer a low ball, I consider his price too high based on the market.

It sounds like what I have and the post office calls informed delivery, but mine is very accurate. Like a lot of things at the post office, however, services may vary a lot from one place to another.
Steve, it sounds like the same service but it does not show pictures of packages. The reason it worked for you was that it was an envelope, which they do (sometimes) photograph. Am I right?

Yes, it worked in my case because what they sent wasn't actually a package, but was treated like a piece of mail. You might be able to do something similar with a package if you picked it up at the post office and opened it in front of somebody there, who could provide evidence of what was in the package, but that is a step I would never take.

Not offended at all. It's called marketplace for a reason and lowballing and refusing is part of the process.
