To me the lighting is/was quite good as seen by a guy who never played under the lights as a kid - lots of ball but no lights, anywhere but for football fields. The quality of this, and all high school baseball fields in our region is better than anything I ever saw, except Connie Mack Stadium (A's & Phillies), while growing up.
Looking back at the image, my initial knee-jerk reaction is to crop/remove the 1st base coach. Looking once more, to me, he makes the image. There is nothing unique about the action, but his looking at the play adds context and a 'story' - perhaps a stretch but that's my take-away. Sort of "Rockwell-esq"?

I agree! Leave him in! He is "part" of the frame. I agree about growing up playing any sport. No lights. Just "night vision".
