I've been enjoying the Sirui Saturn anamorphic lens as an Xpan alternative for panoramic photos. It's certainly not as wide and has some foibles like some barrel distortion and not as close minimum focus as I would like but mostly correctable. Sirui has had a big sale over the summer and these lenses which were previously close to $1,000 are now significantly discounted. I'm thinking of picking up the 100mm or 150mm in the Venus line. They're a lot heavier but even cheaper.
This is from Central Park earlier this summer. I really like the storytelling potential of the lens.

You are using some words I had to look up. The lens seems to generate a very fine image IMHO!
