The only serious complaint about the new Hasselblad X2D2 camera is not Hasselblad’s fault. It’s that all of my hard-won, BUT OLDER, (expensive) XCD lenses have motors that are NOT powerful or flexible enough to enjoy tracking eye focus with AF-C (continual focus) mode.
Only the recent XCD ‘V’ series and a few others have the ability to do that, and unlucky me didn’t care for them that much. I bought one “V” series after another and sent it back, the 55 “V”, the 25mm ‘V’, for example. I just did not find them, for my work, that useful.
So, I do have the 28mm and the 75mm which work with AF-C, the 75mm because the MTF graphs were that good, and the 28mm because I must have a walk-around lens with tracking ability, and it works well enough.
With all the money I had to scrape together for all my older XCD lenses, it has taken some extra work for me to pick up a used Hasselblad XCD 90 ‘V’, which arrived today. With those three modern lenses I will do OK, because otherwise I can’t track anything -- humans, dogs, or vehicles.
