The subject says it: Can anyone point me to instructions for embedding YouTube videos in FM forum posts... or just give a quick explanation here?
TIA.

Dan all I did was find a "test" YT video and copy/paste the link in my reply above.Voila the YT video appears and runs.

If you are referring to the link above, it works OK for me.
I concur with the other post. Just copy and paste the URL. Just make sure it doesn't have a time (in seconds) at the end of the URL if you have been watching it, otherwise it will jump directly to that point in the video.

Well since my first posting this..the "test" link worked fine on my wife's Mac laptop with NO vpn.
Now on my Windows 11 pc's, with vpn, I get challenges and such.
I tried with several versions of the YouTube urls as part of a post in the landscape forum… and I just got clickable links — not the videos embedded in the page.
What do you see below — the videos? Links? Something else?

I did not see this error initially when I posted the YT video EBH...It has morphed into various see-able videos then today I see what you described.
I "googled" and found numerous "same same" problems and all pointed to YT or server processing the link post embedding said link.

It constantly varies. Sometimes the embedded file is visible and sometimes there is the error. Sometimes when I do see it and click they ask me to "sign" into the U-Tube just to view it. I simply try to avoid the google where possible. I'm tired of crap like this. The internet reached a peak about 12-15 years ago and is all downhill since.

There are 2 links that open pages on the website, and there is a guy in the woods. Maybe you?

Yes the YT video appears not a link.

So one of you sees the URL/link only, while the other sees lhe actual video embedded on this page on FM? I don’t quite know what to make of that. (I just see the links myself.)
Yeah, that guy is me. Just a quick little iPhone video I made one recent morning in the Sierra.

I retried 1 of your links and this is now what I get.....
Initially when I posted a test link, the yt video appeared as if you were on YT...worked fine for a few days then went to Error Message then today a few I tried only pasted the link.

What I just discovered is that the two videos showed before I logged in.
After logging in they quickly changed to Error 153.
What this means, I really have no clue.

Something isn’t right with how the FM forum is displaying youtube videos. I think it is time for someone to work out the definitive answer and post it in a thread, perhaps in the style of the old thread explaining how to post from Flickr.
From everything I can see, when you post the youtube videos URL into a FM thread, one of three things can happen:
1. You might simple see a clickable link to the video’s URL
2. You might see the actual video embedded in the FM post.
3. You might see an error message.
In one case I first saw the error message, but when reloading the page saw some of the embedded videos appear. I reloaded and different videos among the set on the page were now embedded or generating the error messages.
I can’t make any sense out of what is going on at all…
