If you've been holding off on the lens waiting for the price to drop, Robert's (UPP on eBay) has them for $1699 here.

After fifty or so transactions with them both on the bay and their own website, I consider them trusted sellers with excellent customer service.

$1300 buys a lot of stuff. And you are supposedly buying the f2 to use it at f2. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Note that I am not taking a position either way, this lens is useless to me with or without IS. But there are use cases out there where IS is not that useful. And in any case IBIS while not as good as in-lens IS is nothing to sneeze at.
