p.1 #3 · Horseshoe bend of Vltava river, Czech republic at night
Love the image jtra! The lights from that city can't be Prague is it? I don't recall a "horseshoe" bend nearby & the light pollution would make imaging the Milky Way difficult, which you've captured exceptionally well.

It is quite popular in daylight. For Milky way nightscape, I have seen maybe 4 good images there. All images are taken from this single location as the view is hidden by trees everywhere else.
Prague is in north direction 50km from this place so that one is not affecting the light pollution.
The view is almost exactly centered on south direction.
This is quite dark location itself except for the small village in the view (Solenice, pop. 357).
Light pollution on horizon is from closer small villages. There are bigger cities Písek (pop. 31k) and Česke Buďějovice (pop. 97k) in view direction, but those are 35km and 75km resp.
There are more bends on Vltava river with good view of the river, but this one is best for Milky way.
