Classic! Reminiscent of Tri-X pushed to 1600 and over-developed in D76

Thank you Jack,

I came upon this article discussing TriX. Exploring, you can find a good bit more discussion of analog photography, techniques, etc.

Thank you Monika!

Yes, quite the visual character however not much of a conversationalist. He was kind enough to agree to photographing the moment.

Yep, it was a very versatile film and had a lovely tonal range — nice detailed blacks with long white range — and probably why it was so popular. I shot a lot of it in the day, mostly at iso 320 for a little denser neg. IIRC it could be pushed to usably to 3200, though it got grainy and contrasty fast after 800.

I was taken by the "Zone System" (Time Life Photography Series my goto source) but attempting to learn that with 35mm roll film was absolute chaos - fools errand. I did have a Pentax Spotmeter though :

D2X.

A blast from the past (in digital terms) ... fitting to the reference toward, Tri-X ... a different blast from the past for many.

Reminds me (not the same, but) of your beekeeper shots.

That's an interesting subject, and you've captured his portrait very well.

I loved TriX and loved processing my own film.
I loved the noise it presented. The tones are perfect!
