p.1 #1 · Look at what is coming around the bend in the trail
We were walking back to the put in on a trail in Wind Cave National Park when we spotted this buffalo coming around the bend heading in the opposite direction we were going. The trail ran through a valley with poison ivy on one side and a hill on the other. We spotted an animal trail going up the hillside and decided this would be out escape. The trail lead to a clearing and we moved back from the trail. The buffalo took the same trail and we watched him from about 50 feet as he watched us and headed over the hillside. A bit excitement on a lovely hike.
Comments and suggestions welcome,

That must have accelerated your heart rate a bit! Glad you had the presence of mind to get a shot!
Thank you Monika. My wife took her photo on the trail as she pointed it out to me. My priority was safety and started to discuss option with her and when we chose the trail up the hill I took the photo as I started on the trail and waited for my wife to see it and follow me. We them found our selves in a clearing and I told her we should move away from the trail which turned out to be a very good choice based on experience when the bison went up the trail and we were 50 feet away in the clearing watching it and it us as it continued on the trail and over the hill.
