AH, you gave me shock but I checked and it 16k, so the 15k predictions were pretty close.
Pretty exciting september, only competition is ARRI for the format.
Not sure why it would shock you. That is what B&H is selling it for. I have no influence on pricing. Not trying to sound disrespectful or being an "ah"........ 16K? ARRI? Had to look that one up. and Yes the build quality would have to be in those specs.
Now if you are referring to "price shock?" Amen!
$6 grand is a LOT of money for this lens. Or ANY lens of this intended IQ! No matter whether you have the means or not to obtain one. If it performs and rises to the caliber and quality I would expect of a quality glass lens aka competition..? I will gladly wait and see. I have a GFX100sii so I would like to stay in the Fuji family and not have to selectively trouble shoot is my bad image eqpt, or is it me, the lens or another factor......
This is a strictly as a consumer in photography equipment and obtain no income from photography despite having 2 paying clients. MY fee is not monetary for these 2 clients.
Picture is worth a 1000 words...!

Sorry to clarify, I meant I misread it as the Eterna 55 price (which would have been super cheap, thus the reverse sticker shock) but it was the price of the lens.
The lens price is fairly low in the cinema world, but agree for stills world it's Leica/Hasselblad pricing. To get a similar constant fstop power zoom, parfocal zoom would be high 5 figures normally, so in that mindset this is a relative steal.

Most people don't buy these things, they rent them. Both the lens and the Eterna would be snapped up by rental houses I would think. Danpbphoto wrote:

You bring up a very valid point I missed! Renting! I have NOT done this before but your idea is a great one considering the cost to me as a senior citizen on a fixed income. And no monetary benefits!
Yes viewing before I buy for this amount is well worth it.
I am still VERY new to the "Fuji system" and for an olde man it is overwhelming! Not like Canon dslr's I shoot along side my Fuji, now.
Thanks!

this lens isn’t made for you, it’s made for professional video production companies. They will rig up gears to control all those fancy rings with electronic controls.

I took a look at the lens on B&H and my goodness!! All the adjustment rings on the barrel!? Fuji doesn't make things easy.
Thanks!
