BTW what is a "Blind Box" they refer to, I never heard that term.

From the article: "“The cameras are sold in blind boxes, adding an element of surprise and collectability! With 7 uniquely vintage designs including 1 secret edition, every unboxing is a mystery awaiting to be revealed." Kinda like Cracker Jack ;-)

Yeah these are a type of those keychain toy cameras that have been common in Japan and Asia for a while. These new Kodak ones are pretty stylish and blind boxes are also very popular right now (like Pop
Mart: https://popmart.com/us).

Yep, blind box is gachapon, but the western equivalent would be collectible trading card packs, kinder eggs, or cracker jacks. The ultimate blind box reference would be the GOLDEN TICKET in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Garbage, packaged and sold as "limited" and "collectable", only to end up in landfills shortly after, just like every other blind box fad right now. The peak of consumerism JUST to consume.

Maybe if I was to host a birthday party for 8-10 year olds......... maybe. Or I was teaching a photography class for children. Otherwise, it seems like a waste of plastic. The images don't even rise to those of disposable film cameras of the '80s. There are actually plenty of 50-100 20 year old digital cameras on Ebay one could buy and make actually nice images... for the money. Since anyone (except the afore mentioned 8-10 year olds... maybe) already have a capable mobile phone with camera capability if they want non-camera photo images.
I WOULD NOT, COULD NOT IN A TREE.
NOT IN A CAR! YOU LET ME BE.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM IN A BOX.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM WITH A FOX.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM IN A HOUSE.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM WITH A MOUSE.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM HERE OR THERE.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM ANYWHERE.
Yeah, I've got a problem with the blind boxes.. I'm also the local Labubu dealer for the parents in the neighborhood.. this Charmera is like the perfect storm for me.

Well, one came in.. I placed an order @ Hunt's for 3, which the website allowed me to do, and then at some point they decided to just implement a "one per customer" policy.. Glad I placed a few orders elsewhere. Pretty bummed about that, probably going to take Hunt's off my list for pre-ordering anything. I actually had to email them to follow-up on the $60 refund for the other 2, doubt I would've got my money back if I hadn't been proactive.
Anyway, got the black one.. :/ Still hoping I can pull a "1987" edition whenever the next boxes come in.
