I have visited many cities in the United States and Canada to capture architectural photographs. I live just 25 miles from downtown Chicago--one of the greatest cities for architecture. Yet, I rarely visit Chicago. I decided that's going to change.
So, yesterday I took a trip downtown. It was a photographer's paradise! One of my first stops was the Aqua Tower.
The Aqua Tower is an 82-story building (and also has 5 floors of parking below the ground). It's a multi-purpose space that includes condos, apartments, a hotel, offices and retail. The building cost $300 million. It is called Aqua because of the wave-like forms of the balconies...which was designed in part due to the tower's proximity to Lake Michigan.
Here are some of the B&W pictures that I captured:

Glenn it must be esp! I was thinking that gee, I have not seen any new posts of Glenn's superb work of late and voila!!
Just fantastic Glenn!
You and Allen(airfrogusmc) need to get together!
Blow our minds with some great collaborative work!
Dan
Are you still using Nikon dslr's? Your mono work is indeed superb here!
Thanks Dan!
I've been shooting and occasionally posting--but I've been doing mostly wildlife and sports as of late. I've been shooting mirrorless for the past few years...Nikon Z9 and Nikon Z7ii. I loved my dSLRs, but mirrorless has made things even easier!
Great compositions for a great building.
I saw some interior shots somewhere a while ago, but I can't really remember how much they carried the esthetic into the inside.

Well the 2 Forums I don't spend much, if any, time viewing. The talent there is overwhelming!
WEll your move to seemless does not appear to have affected your image quality. Making things easier for you is what it is all about.
Thanks and again fantastic photography!

Thanks...I wish I could gain access to more of the downtown buildings. Given that this is mostly residential, that usually isn't possible.
Excellent shots, I love your perspective and tonality. I'm a street photographer and live in Chicago, too. I'm always inspired by the city. It has both beauty and despair.
