p.1 #1 · Mobile Image Transfer

Question for those of you with the newer Expeed 7 cameras, especially the more consumer models (not Z8 or Z9). How is the workflow for transferring raw images to a mobile device, is it faster and more stable than the older Expeed 6 cameras? Or do you still just need to pull the card if you’re downloading more than a handful of images.

I’m aware you can setup direct download to Lightroom as well, I guess that’s a related question, how seamlessly does that work?

Personally, I've had great luck with NX MobileAir with a USB cable. It's fast and dependable.

NX MobileAir also reportedly works wirelessly. I gave it a try, but preferred the "simplicity" of the cable. I just tuck one into my pack/jacket and I'm good to go.

And recognizing that there are some people here who have gotten snapbridge to configure/work -- life is short. I just found the whole thing too finicky. If I'm on a deadline and need to pull some quick images, I just want it all to work without a lot of effort.

There’s a guy showing off his wireless transfer app - my bet is with HE* files this works pretty well (as far as speed is concerned):

Thanks, and too your last point, Snap Bridge does “work” but the process and slowness are exactly why I ask. It’s not a great solution.

Cloud transfer on Z6III and later cameras is reliable and as fast as wireless speeds allow. I have used it regularly. Thom Hogan also wrote about it in his Z5ii review. The only problem is that it won't transfer video files.

Canon and Sony implementations will transfer all files, even 8k raw video.

I've been struggling with Snapbridge for the 2 weeks I've had the ZF. It's so clumsy. Cloud Transfer worked amazingly well when I initially set it up, but then there was an update to terms and conditions which forced a re-link, and it's been spotty since then, the last few days.

Wireless transfer is borderline useless. Just do a usb to usb transfer to your phone.

On the newer cameras do you get similar speed to pulling the card and using a reader?
