I'm considering picking up a Wandrd sling bag for an upcoming trip where I'd like to travel a bit lighter.
I'm not sure between the 9L or 6L bag and I'm curious from anyone who has used the 6 or 9L.
I'd like to carry a Nikon Z8, the Nikon 24-120 F4 S lens and another smaller prime like a 28 or 50 mm
voigtlander lens or both and stack them on top of each other.
Has anyone used and fit the Z8 and the 24-120 and another small prime in the 6L or do I really need the 9L?
I've tried measuring it all out but without really seeing and feeling it, it's tough to gauge.
I'm trying to stay as light as possible this time rather than carrying 2 bodies, lenses in a Shimoda backpack.
I know nothing about your bags but z8 + 24-120/4 with reversed lens hood fits into 3.5l wotancraft "sling pouch upgrade", and it is not really a camera bag. I am sure you should be fine with 6l.
I'm not familiar with the Wandr Sling, but 6L should normally be sufficient.
I occasionally use my Nikon Messenger Bag for the combination, which has an internal volume of just over 6L and can hold the Z8 & Z 24-120/4 S with the hood attached + a prime lens with the diameter of a Z 50/1.8 S.
If it doesn't have to be a sling, I can recommend this one, which costs a quarter of the price of a Wandr 6L sling.
I just got a 9L and it's a nice bag. I will put my Z8 and 24-120 in it and update this post so you can see what it looks like. It easily fits. If you turn the camera on it's end, you have even more room, or mount a lens on it and face it down.
Hey all,
A follow up so others will know. I ordered the Wandrd 6L and yes the Z8 with the 24-120 F4 Nikon lens along with a small prime will fit in the bag but it is very snug. You have to tug the top of the bag and honestly remove the lens hood for the 24-120 to make even that lens fit properly. I'm going to try out the 9L and see what happens.
Hey all,
To follow up. I agree with 3cat above that for the Z8 I think you really need the 9L.
I got one in today and I can fit the Z8, Z7II, the 24-120 F4 and a small prime or
the Z8, the 24-120, 2 primes in the main section. I haven't tried to fill up the other sections yet
but the 6L felt a bit to snug. It could work if it had to, but if you don't mind that larger bag,
for me the 9L is the way I'm going to go. So for anyone who might check out this thread in the future, I did try the 6 and 9L and felt the 9L was best with a larger camera body.
If I had say a Q3 or something in the range, the 6L woulda been plenty, but with the Z8 and a couple of lenses, I'd go with the 9L.
