Can anyone confirm my hunch that this is a Ferruginous hawk? Photographed near a prairie dog town in southern Saskatchewan.

iNaturalist says it's a western meadowlark...

Those feathers look so soft ya just want to rub its belly, as long as you don't mind a chunk missing out of your finger.

This was one of the very few shots from a sequence of about 20 images that wasn't ruined by heat haze. When in doubt, shoot lots, I guess...
