I've recently come across some strange behavior with my A9III. If I turn the camera on and start shooting immediately then the buffer seems to get sort of locked up and takes between 5 and 10 seconds to clear while showing 4-5 shots in the buffer. After waiting 5-10 seconds then the buffer behaves like normal and clears instantly. I've updated the firmware of the camera to the latest version. It seems to only be an issue when using CF express type A cards and not with SD cards. I'm using the OWC Atlas Pro 4.0 cards and just made sure they have the latest firmware update that OWC put out this year. Unfortunately I don't have any other brand of CF express A cards to test this against to see if it's just these specific cards causing the issue. I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue with other brands of CF express cards before I go and throw money at some new cards to see if that fixes the issue.

I have a very similar issue with a couple of Delkin Black 4.0 cards (480gb) in both my A1 II and an A9 III I rented for a shoot. Sometimes, after turning the camera on and immediately taking a burst of shots, the buffer gets stuck for about 3-5 seconds before writing the pictures. If the camera has been on for a bit, it doesn't happen. I got a couple of OWC 480gb cards and have not run into this issue.

Yes this is exactly what's happening with mine. Mine are also 480gb 4.0 cards. I guess I will just likely have to shell out for some Sony cards to avoid this issue.

I personally would try to have the cards replaced and see if that helps first.
