I was at the nest early on this morning got there just before sunrise and for the next 15 minutes the light was just golden. The chick was active doing some wing flaps and that only means one thing, it's about to fledge. Here's a few shots I captured during that magic glow right around sunrise.
Sweet light Louie, and great shots of that newbie. Yup, you can see it doing its pre-flight check, all systems go, ready for take off, soon as it gets brave enough, heh. Nice work.

Thanks very much Eric, I'm hoping to find out tomorrow if the chick has fledged or is about to. With a little luck I'll come back with some images.

Beauties Louie with the first my pick. It sounds like it will fledge any day now, possibly even as I type this.

Thanks very much Morris. Well, I was up at the nest this morning and the chick is jumping up and down off the nest but not flying. Interesting to watch the adults trying to lure the chick off the nest, they circle the nest, try pushing the chick off to the edge and bringing a fish to another piling. Nothing worked! Got a lot of shots but not the one I wanted maybe tomorrow.

The light is truly a gift to these images Louie! Love the warmth and the 'cool' tone bg. Great shots my friend and presentation is sweet

Thanks Karl, this nest has been a joy to watch and capture some of the action. I'm trying my best to be there when the chick fledges, but we'll see.

Proof.....It pays to get up early and stay late. The light is what takes these from good shots to great shots. Outstanding Louie !! Beautifully done.
John
Really appreciate your kind words John, this nest is such a joy to watch let alone get a few decent shots. I'll be watching and hoping I'm there for when the chick fledges.
