Thanks everyone for the kind words and the votes . They are truly appreciated. By the way, as to the ID , I submitted a couple of the pictures to bugguide.net . They came back with the ID of a megachile - leaf cutter bee, adult male.

Those are beautiful pics. Can I ask what camera / lens you used? Did you use a flash?

These are all fantastic Birdie with the first showing exquisite light, but that last one is truly special. Well done!

I spent lots of time this morning trying to get close to the ID of those 3 bees. I would like to know myself. But I am still not confident on their ID. Once. I get away from the Honeybee and Bumblebees it becomes quite difficult for me. I own the Xerxes book “Attracting Native Pollinators. Between that book, all the references I could find on the net and google lens….. I only have two guesses, and then only to Family. That would be the Miners and Leafcutters. Are the 3 you show in the images the same individual…. or at least the same species? I wonder if they carry much pollen and if they carry it under the abdomen or on the legs. Must move on to other tasks today, but want you to know that I too want to know the name of that bee.
Your first image of that Fritillary is super! Your execution is perfect as always, but it is the color that puts it over the top for me…. WOW!

Thanks so much Robert ! I, too get very confused with these little bees. All the research I did led me to the miners also. BugGuide .net guy did not agree These pictures are the same one. They are normally so fast I have a hard time getting the shot. However it had rained that day and I think this little guy got wet and was drying off. I do have some pictures of another one , I will go look for . Thanks for the kind words.
