My camera box does say UC2, but all boxes for lens say SYX EAC. They are all bought new from B&H with serial number on the receipts. I think there is probably only a single version for lens, so they all say SYX EAC regardless where they are sold. It's probably just a conformity notation. On the inside flap of the box, it does say "for US customers ..."

All of the lens boxes that I have seen recently (confirmed as US distributior, with receipt) show SYX EAC which should not correlate with US distribution. No one really seems to know why… but we’re trying to find out
My point… don’t be concerned that your lens box doesn’t say UC2 (USA).
All the camera body boxes of friends… all show UC2.
