Bought one (used- sent back) I did not do ALL my due diligence but a fair amount otherwise I would have known about the problem beforehand.
The connection between the lens and the camera is not solid: there is a slight but distinct 'clunk' when 'twisting' the lens opposite of the camera body.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a remedy, is it on only some group?
A lot of lenses have a little rotational play, and it's easier to notice on a larger lens where you can apply more torque to the barrel. I wouldn't have worried about it unless it was excessive and/or caused the camera and lens to lose electrical contact.
Thanks for the reply - I was hanging my decision on what I heard from TamronUSA- customer service person and since then I;ve seen some great images from the lens- might have swayed me back.
MPB has a few copies - I asked them to check them out before sending in exchange - they wouldn't do it as they say all the equipment they get in is thoroughly checked. I guess I'll keep shopping for this lens or 100-400.
Again, thanks for the reply,
Jim
