p.1 #1 · what lens adapter and lens hood for a new Fuji X100VI?
I am a lens hood person and have always been one. I've even approached people with their lens hoods on backwards and tried to remind them gently that lens hoods are important to prevent flare even on overcast days.
I am fortunate to have just purchased a lovely black Fujifilm X100VI and am a bit amazed that they have a ring that must be removed and then an adapter must be purchased in order to use filters and/or a lens hood but so be it.
At B&H the Fujifilm branded hood costs US$76.00, the adapter ring US$46.00. I'm not prepared to pay those prices.
I'm curious to know what others have chosen to solve this problem.

I have a JJC LH-X100 which I've used on several of the X100 models. They can be found on Ebay and elsewhere and are inexpensive. They come in black and silver and there are also similar models from other brands. The hood is slotted so it doesn't completely block the optical finder view. I also found a spare labeled as LA-49X100 but no other name.
I recommend taking off the front ring, putting it into the Fuji box and store the box in a safe place so you don't lose it. The ring also has to be removed to use the WCL, TCL lens converters.

The jjc is a 95% replica for much less. I own both the OEM and the jjc and I’d be hard pushed to spot the difference.
People love the admittedly cool looking square hoods, but they’re screw on not bayonet. So changing filters is a pin, as is removing for smaller storage.

I just ordered the JJC hood and a small rig grip. They'll be here tomorrow. I doubt I'll use the X100VI on a tripod often but in addition to being a lens hood person, I'm also a tripod person and that goes back to my 4x5 days.
