While heading to my car after a long day at EAA AirVenture, I spotted a dark, menacing shelf cloud rolling in behind this Boeing 747. The left side of the fuselage was still catching light from the clearer part of the sky, creating dramatic contrast and reflections — a striking photo opportunity I hadn’t expected. Unfortunately, I had my 500mm mounted on the Z9, which isn’t ideal for shooting something as large as a 747. But with no time to swap gear, I tried to make the most of the moment and captured what I could. Nikon Z9 with a Nikkor 500mm f/5.6 PF @ 1/320 sec, f/11, ISO 200.

I think you achieved a very striking image here, and the dramatic compression of the 500mm resulted in a brooding, almost menacing look to the 747 which is most unusual. Great work!
