Back in my doctoral training program, we had to learn the Rorschach. There are some cards with color in them, and we were taught that emotionally intense people would be discernible on the basis of their color responses. I, of course, never in my life having been laid back, as it were, largely the result of my Marine Corps (though non-combat) service, immediately responded to the color cards with, shall I say, extravagant, and colorful characterizations of what the card represented to me. The person administering said, WOW, she looked flush in her face (good grief, was she gorgeous). I said, however, yes, I know, but think of it this way…..unlike “unhinged folk,” I did not see color where there was none. But, I digress….
