I preferred the Mara over Samburu. Samburu has a lot more brush--which makes it more challenging to isolate animals. Mara has a lot more open plains...which makes it far easier for me to capture clean pictures of the animals. Mara also seemed to have a lot more wildlife (particularly cats) than Samburu. The landscape at Samburu is harsher--seems like the predators have a much harder time surviving there. The cats at Samburu weren't as plentiful and the ones we saw looked thin and frail. Life is harder there.
