That 250/4 is a stunning lens but not a practical focal length for general purpose portraiture. It wouldnt be my first choice if I'm just starting to build a portrait kit.

I have the gf 110/2 and it is great. You cant fault it but it never wowed me either.

The lenses that honestly take my breath away are the Sigma 105/1.4 and 135/1.8 with a fringer on the gfx. Extremely sharp with amazing bokeh. The 105 is a beast, the 135 is a lot more holdable. In return you will get shots the 110/2 as good as it is simply

That sigma 105 looks amazing but with the adapter, is it taking advantage of the full sensor? Are you getting all 102mp? Still trying to understand adapting full frame to MF, and how it works..?

yes, the 105 with adapter uses the full sensor.

I use the Fringer EF and Contax 645 adapters, both are "smart" adapters in that they provide complete EXIF data and retain the lens autofocus capabilities. Neither of them automatically put the camera into "35mm format mode". That mode crops down so no vignetting and 60-ish mp. Otherwise, sensor coverage is case by case for FF lenses. The 645 and larger medium format are larger than Gfx so no issues there. Canon EF lenses, some never vignette, some do at wider apertures, and some do all the time. But some searching on here and elsewhere will give you others experience with most of those lenses. My experiences with adapting have been largely positive. But I will admit to being extremely tolerant to small issues if I like the end result. I love the look of Contax 645 lenses but they would probably annoy some people with loud AF, hunting, and flat out focus failures. But they also capture some of my favorite shots.

I started with the 35/3.5 and 140/2.8 then just recently added the 210/4. At first I was a little disappointed in the 35/3.5 comparing it to the Fuji 20-35. It doesn't have the details deep into the image like a native Fuji. Where it shines is in more of an environmental portrait style of shot. Even at 3.5, it has bokeh and character that are beautiful for the right situation. Its funny I got the 140 with the 35 and thought I might immediately resell the 140 as I didn't see that focal length working for me. I'm happy to be wrong, the 140 is a gem, especially wide open at 2.8. Lots of warmth and character and nice smooth transition into OOF. This 210 is a week old for me and I haven't really figured out how I will use it yet. But I'm happy to experiment with it. I would love to have the 80/2 but apparently the rest of the world does too, $$$. To me, these lenses are a compliment to Fuji natives, not replacements. They will not resolve detail in the same way and the AF is super clunky. But in certain situations they are beautiful. I'll admit to getting real satisfaction out of using high quality, old equipment in the modern world, be it lenses or other things. So these probably aren't for everyone.

Update; had the 110mm f/2, 32-64, 23mm, 63mm 2.8.. and the 110mm and 63mm are absolutely stellar. Yeah the 63mm focusing motors are loud and slow but goodness its sharp.
