A stunning set Gary. For the second, the bright sun reflection on the bottom of the frame pulls my eye off the egret. Possibly a tighter crop or a crop to a panorama might fix this without taking away from the wonderful backlit fish.

Appreciate the comments Eric. #2 was one of those situations where you're mumbling under your breath; keep walking, keep walking... There was just a sliver of that light where the sun started to peak through.

What bothers me about that photo are the lines at the top of the frame. IMHO if I cropped out those highlights at the bottom it would dumb down the image and the lines at the top would bother me even more. As is I think it's more balanced.

I believe you are correct Gary. If you crop out he bright line on the top you could then crop to balance the rest and leave most of the bottom.
