Having a hell of a time getting either of these to show me some LoCA. Both exhibit color casts ahead of and behind the focal point, but no sharp edge fringing on the text or otherwise. Impressive.
Lots of interesting little rendering tidbits to glean from these shots in terms of specular highlights.

I see Sirui as warm toned, CV as stronger contrast but weak in the greens, and Nikon balanced in color but not as contrasty as CV.
I used the Sirui 35mm quite a bit on a trip to the Dolomites the last couple of days. Mostly for environmental portraits and some landscapes. And gotta say the autofocus missed quite often, even f/8 landscapes sometimes. Also got some bad flare a couple of times (and I am someone who likes flare and ghosting).
So while I like the weight and rendering of the Sirui, I am now back to looking into the Viltrox 35mm f1.2 or adapting the Sony GM or Sigma 35mm f1.2..
There’s another option that’s lighter than the LAB coming soon…
I’m surprised to hear you were missing focus at F8, that takes some skill

Well here’s my trick for missing focus at f/8:
Set AF to Auto Area, attach Sirui 35mm with wonky firmware, point camera at scene where everything is at least 20m away, press shutter.
Should any lens miss focus in this scenario? No.
Did the Sirui still miss? Yep.
I always noticed and either refocused before taking or took a second shot anyway. Same for f/1.4 shots although on some of the portraits I would have preferred some frames where it actually missed slightly, even though the camera detected the eye correctly..
