p.1 #1 · R5 MARK II IN FREEZING WEATHER

Earlier there has been a good bit of discussion as to the R5 II in sub zero Fahrenheit weather. What is the latest on this? Most of the discussion was sub freezing and not sub zero. It seemed to be a camera issue. Has new firmware fixed it?

Planning a trip to Yellowstone this winter. My experience there suggest I should be prepared for sub zero weather. Do I need to take an old R5 or even my older 5D 4?

Perhaps this doesn’t belong to the Nikon forum?

Sorry to hear that. I'd suggest upgrading to a Nikon Z8

I suggest you go to that thread and ask… there were people there doing all kinds of tests and what not.

The one benefit of the overheating-prone Z8 construction

Or you could have asked the OP to delete it by PM. It was reposted in Canon afterwards.

Without a fan, they all overheat. Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji. Nothing unique to the Z8

I opted not do so because other people may then have done it also in parallel which would have annoyed the OP.

Cheers,
Bernard
