p.1 #1 · Leica D-Lux 8 Adobe Color profile missing

Just received my D-Lux and when I try to edit the RAW files Adobe Color isn't showing up on the list. Only Adobe standard and Adaptive. Anyone else experince this? Seems strange as all my other cameras offer Adobe Color in the drop down.

I have the same thing with my D-Lux 8. Neither Leica nor Adobe has a profile for the D-Lux 8. Still, the colors I get on import are excellent so I am not so worried about it.

All my other Leicas use embedded profile.

I like the jpeg colors but without the adobe profile I don't really like the RAW colors.

So just make a preset or a profile that has a look that you like and have it apply automatically whenever importing a D-Lux 8 file.

Profiles are different from presets and without a good starting profile it can be difficult to achieve good results.

I think the only real difference is how you save and install them. Otherwise profiles and presets have the exact same tool sets available to them so you should be able to get the same result. The primary difference in use is that when you apply a preset the sliders in lightroom change, when you apply a profile they don't.

A little expensive- But the profiles from Cobalt are really nice-

Might get you closer to what you want. It also can be used across any camera if you have the base pack-
