Thanks Eric! Yes the butterflies are varied and the County does a great job with variety. About 50 species.

Thanks, Dan, I don't think I have ever seen the second one.
Douglas
I will have to "grab" my butterfly book and look the name up Douglas. The exhibit had a placard with pictures of all the butterflies and their names and species..I may have that also in a photo.
Thanks..

Beautiful Dan ! Explosion of color in that first image, WOW. Great job,

The exhibit is always an explosion of color. The early morning hours the butterflies are still lethargic and dont move. Just open their wings to get sunshine and warm up.
I have a few compositions that have multiple species of butterflies "sleeping" on 1 stem!
Thanks Greg!

Then this one was trying to escape on my shoulder!!!

Thanks Roberta! I spend hours here. I am mesmerized at each visit!
The "Blue Morphos" are very stingy in displaying their top wing views, Not sure why nor do the docent(s)
I went yesterday at 0800hrs and they were all still asleep. Daylight is getting shorter and the creatures are sleeping longer! The exhibit is partially air conditioned and have huge vent fans at each end that move the air very well. The conservatory glass is painted white to lessen the intensity of the suns rays. The County does do an excellent job with this event every year! Both inside in the 2 conservatories and outside in the spacious well manicured gardens. All volunteers.
A photographer's paradise in any season.
Thanks!

they're just too small to enjoy any detail.
Too small? On my 27 and 30 inch monitors they are very detailed in the view. Let me know if this is what you are speaking of "small wise".
Thanks!
