Hi Everyone: I had taken a break from photography for a few months. I have now decided no more exotic trips for me. No need to travel hundreds of miles. My last trip to Varanasi was a disaster including my hotel stay, my guide, I smashed face-first into a glass door, and I broke my favorite lens. For the time being, my photography will only include images I take while on my local walks here in the North of India where I live.
These are of a mother and her daughters. I love the affection the young one has for her mother.
The compositions have that wonderful "sheen" to them Charles! Crisp sharp tones and lines!
Agree no need to venture further than "your own backyard"!

Thanks so much, Dan. I actually quit photography for a few months, given the challenging circumstances I found myself in during my trip to Varanasi. I though maybe I was getting a message from beyond. But i think I just needed to reset.

I think we all need to do that willingly or not Charles. Sort of reinvigorates our senses!
The record breaking heat and humidity here has kept me pretty much inside.

Yes indeed. And the fact is that I am not twenty years old any more. That may be an advantage in terms of my skills, but it does set some physical limitations.

It is called "The Olde Folks Boogie"(Little Feat) Charles,,,The song lyrics say it ALL: "The mind makes promises that the body can't fill!!!" It is an extremely astute song that encompasses the road to age and the "along the way" mentality of olde folks.
And this was 50 years ago!

Exactly, Dan. One has to be realistic about their limitations, and that is where wisdom comes in!
Really good story, and sums up the situation well. My feeling is that I have to stretch my skills a bit more, but all the diamonds are there. They are in the rough perhaps, but certainly it is more satisfying whenever I uncover one.
