p.2 #1 · New firmware update for the Sony A1 II Ver. 3.00
Well I am pleased that Sony followed what the rest of the industry has been doing to make firmware updating less of a struggle, particularly, in their case, for Mac users. So far, I haven’t noticed a great deal of difference other that’s the display data rendering. This is probably a good thing.
Have they done anything that they haven’t declared, such as improving the focusing algorithms, or white balance detection ? Who knows. I suspect not.

Why would you do either? The update software re-starts the camera and that is all you need.
I've always done a reset and reload of settings to avoid potential settings-related issues. No idea why I started doing that but it probably stems from glitches I read about years ago. There was also a well-documented case a few years ago with focusing issues for some lenses on the A1 after a firmware update that was fixed by a factory reset of the body.

Both bodies updated using SD without issue. One minor weirdness – after the update both bodies had Airplane mode switched off. Worth checking if you start eating batteries after the upgrade.

I can't tell if it is a feature or a bug (definitely falls on the bug side for me) ...

I have noticed this and don't like it. Need to see if I can turn it off in the menu.

I suppose it add an extra layer of of security in case you delete a whole load of images by mistake. I find the option to delete just on one card or both more annoying
