Dickerson is a passenger rail station on the MARC Brunswick Line, situated between Washington, D.C., and Martinsburg, WV (with an extension to Frederick, MD). The station was designed by E. Francis Baldwin and built by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in 1891. It is the last station that Frederick-bound trains pass before branching onto the Frederick Branch. It is the least used station on the MARC Brunswick Line. The station sees 4 trains a day in and outbound, and 15 parking spaces available directly adjacent to the station
I liked the "hi key" light here. Some of the historic architecture can get obscured by darker contrast and such.....

This is some excellent b&w work that really does justice to the beautiful buildings. Both images are nicely composed and have superb detail and tonal qualities.

That Dickerson station is a real find! Funny how even the doors open opposite directions, emphasizing the symmetry of the building.
Thanks "pc"! It is extremely a unique rr station. Looking at it from the front end, it appears to have "wings" like in the "Flying nun".

Thanks brother! The brickwork is very very old and highlighting it or upping the "whites" or light, makes them look flat. I wanted separation in the mortar work.
Thanks!

I really appreciate your "take" on this Parul. I am trying to work through my b&w workflow. Far more difficult than color!

WELCOME to FM "CA_F"!
Thanks! It was a very bright day and there were many clashes with the sunlight about midday. Many of the shadows blocked the intricate brick work and architectural "scrolling" of the wood work. The image could use some more variation in tones...another day.
Thanks!
