Morpho-recto view The verso view is spectacular..Blue
Not one of my better captures. His wings are a bit ragged. Robert Frost's "Blue-Butterfly Day" captures the vibrant flight of blue butterflies, likening them to "flowers that fly".
I know nothing about butterflies, but it almost looks like the ragged edges is natural. If so or if not, I think that the ragged edges tells more of the story with the blue one.
Isn't it funny how often people choose the shot we took that we personally like least? Love the colors on the blue one Dan, its a magnificent little creature. Nature is full of surprises, I think that's what keeps me going.

Thank you John!
The Blue Morpho is a fantastic butterfly but rarely does it show the top side of its wings! This poor guy was still stunned by the early morning cool air so he was sort of in a daze. Hence his wings out to grab some sun!
Thanks!

I have a few more to post where there are many butterflies, some of the same species, some of varied species, sleeping on 1 branch all in a row.
Thanks!

Butterflies are so varied in the recto(top) and verso(underwing) views. The Blue Morpho has 3 other species that have the same verso colors with a varied number of "spots" to camouflague them from predators. But their top wing view is entirely different.
Gotta love Mother Nature!
Thanks!

these are amazing, brother.
Thank you my brother! The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, joy, and the fleeting nature of life. Many a good poem written about them!
Stay cool!
